Lisa Edelstein (born Lisa Edelstein) is an American actor who is best recognized for her role as House in Fox's the medical thriller House. After being raised by Jewish conservatives in Wayne, New York City was the place she went to pursue her studies in acting at Tisch. She was soon involved with club culture and caused enough of a stir to draw the attention of the media. Then, she used her experience and fame as well as her own education to write and perform a show called Positive Me. Then she was recruited by MTV to host Awake On The Wild Side. Following the end of the series, she started appearing in television and film productions, initially in smaller parts, but gradually establishing herself as an actor.
