Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington is a Greek American author syndicated columnist and a businesswoman. She was co-founder of The Huffington Post, is the founder and CEO of Thrive Global as well an writer of 15 novels. Arianna Huffington is an independent liberal news website is a popular TV show host an author and charitable donor. Originating from Greece Arianna Huffington immigrated to England with her family at sixteen years of age. While at Cambridge University she earned a MA qualification in Economics. It was her first time as a student non-UK to hold the office of president of The Cambridge Union at the age of 21. In the years following the graduation ceremony, she was an influential conservative syndicated journalist. A few more years later, she founded The Huffington Post which featured criticism of the present politics. Her fame and popularity helped in getting several high-profile contributors to write their own opinions on politics news and culture. Arianna became famous when she made the decision to contest as an independent candidate in the California recall election to replace Governor Davis. She also headed a Detroit energy-efficient vehicle project. Forbes named her as the 12th most influential female on the planet in 2009 and Guardian also included her on the Top 100 Media List the same year. AOL Inc. acquired The Huffington Post in 2011 and named her the President of their media group, which also included other AOL products like Engadget AOL Music Style list and Patch Media. Elli was the youngest daughter of Konstantinos journalist father who also works as a management consultant. She was extremely close to her father. But it was her connection with her mother that shaped her. In her early years, she exhibited the qualities of a leader for which her name is still well-known. Her move to England came at age 16 to complete her schooling and was enrolled into Girton College Cambridge. She was a member of The Cambridge Union college debate society while in college and was the third female who was elected the president. In 1972, she graduated with the degree of Master's in Economics. She worked as a music critic in the media, as well as host of a television show and as a columnist shortly after her graduation. She also appeared in the series Face the music along with Bernard Levin and began writing books with editorial assistance from the latter.
