In addition to being a beautiful and intelligent actress, she serves as a role-model for many Asian actors in Hollywood that want to be successful. A series of successful early appearances in popular television series resulted in her being well-known for her part in the character on Ally McBeal, where she was Ling Woo. The actress took her initial fame into major screen roles in movies like Shanghai Noon and Charlie's Angels. She then delivered a superlative performance as Japanese criminal O-Ren Ishii as QT's Kill Bill Volume 1. Around the same time she was playing leading roles in several film that did not make the top of the charts, like Rise: Blood Hunter.
