Lucy Liu is an American actress voice actress director producer, and singer. In addition to being a beautiful and intelligent actress, she serves as a role-model for many Asian actors in Hollywood that want to be successful. A series of successful early appearances in popular television series resulted in her being well-known for her part in the character on Ally McBeal, where she was Ling Woo. The actress took her initial fame into major screen roles in movies like Shanghai Noon and Charlie's Angels. She then delivered a superlative performance as Japanese criminal O-Ren Ishii as QT's Kill Bill Volume 1. Around the same time she was playing leading roles in several film that did not make the top of the charts, like Rise: Blood Hunter. In animated films like Kung Fu Panda, Tinker Bell as well as others, she voiced prominent characters. The small screen role of Mia Mason in Cashmere Mafia failed to produce positive results. Southland, a critically acclaimed series of police dramas which had Liu playing recurring role, allowed her to reaffirm her status as a performer. Liu is extremely cautious when picking her roles to ensure that she doesn't become cast in a very competitive industry.
